British Peptides

Can you use copper peptides with niacinamide?

Yes. Copper peptides and niacinamide can be used together in the same routine. Both are formulated close to a neutral pH, so neither needs separating by time of day the way vitamin C often does. Apply the thinner product first, let it absorb, then follow with the next.

Why is this pairing easy?

The usual reason to separate two actives is pH. Vitamin C and exfoliating acids are formulated acidic, while copper peptides sit close to neutral.

Niacinamide also sits close to neutral, so layering it with a copper peptide serum puts neither ingredient outside the conditions it was formulated for.

Did copper peptides and niacinamide ever clash?

You may have read older advice warning against the combination. It largely came from early formulations and from mixing raw ingredients, not from finished products applied one after the other.

With modern, separately formulated products used in sequence, the combination is common and well tolerated.

What order should you apply them in?

Thinnest to thickest. If both are watery serums, apply whichever is thinner first, wait a minute, then the second.

If your niacinamide is in a moisturiser, the copper peptide serum goes first and the moisturiser seals it in.

What does a routine using both look like?

Morning: cleanse, niacinamide serum, moisturiser, SPF.

Evening: cleanse, copper peptide serum, moisturiser.

Or both in the evening, one after the other. Either works, so choose the version you will keep doing.

Common questions

Which goes first, copper peptides or niacinamide?

Whichever has the thinner texture. If both are serums of similar texture, the order makes little difference as long as you let the first absorb before applying the second.

Can niacinamide make copper peptides less effective?

Not in the way finished products are normally used, applied one after another. The two are formulated at similar pH levels, so neither undermines the other.

Can I add vitamin C to this routine as well?

Yes, but keep vitamin C in the morning and your copper peptide in the evening. Niacinamide can sit in either slot.
