Copper peptides for hair and scalp: a practical guide
In haircare, copper peptides are used in shampoos, conditioners and scalp serums for the look of thicker, fuller hair and a scalp that feels healthy. A simple routine is copper peptide shampoo, conditioner left on for three to five minutes, then a few drops of scalp serum on towel dried hair, left in.
Why put a peptide in haircare?
Hair is built mainly from a protein called keratin, and the scalp is skin. Copper Tripeptide-1 is used in scalp and hair products for the same reason it is used in skincare: to support how skin and hair look and feel.
These are cosmetic products. They work on the appearance of hair and the feel of the scalp.
How do you use each product?
Shampoo: massage into a wet scalp with the fingertips rather than the nails, then rinse. The scalp is where the product is most useful, not the lengths.
Conditioner: apply through the lengths, leave for three to five minutes, then rinse.
Scalp serum: part towel dried hair in a few places, apply a few drops along each parting, and massage in. Do not rinse.
How long before you notice a difference?
Longer than skincare. Hair grows roughly a centimetre a month, so the look of fullness changes slowly.
Give a hair routine eight to twelve weeks of consistent use before judging it. Taking a photo in the same light on day one makes the comparison honest.
What else helps hair look fuller?
Gentle handling: less heat, looser styles, and a wide tooth comb on wet hair.
A consistent routine you actually keep. A three step routine used every wash beats a complicated one used occasionally.
Common questions
Can I use copper peptide scalp serum every day?
Yes. It is designed to be left in, so it can go on daily or after each wash, whichever you will stick to.
Will copper peptide shampoo make my hair greasy?
It should not. Rinse thoroughly, and apply the scalp serum sparingly. A few drops along each parting is enough.
Is copper peptide haircare suitable for coloured hair?
Our shampoo and conditioner are sulphate free, which is generally kinder to coloured hair. Patch test first if your scalp is sensitive.
